Paratek is making wireless better! Companion Bias/Controller HVDACsParatek's Passive Tunable Integrated Circuits (PTICs) have the ability to change capacitance upon a change in voltage. Paratek produces a companion four-output HV-DAC that manages and sets these important bias voltages. Together, the PTICs and HV-DAC allow Paratek's integrated products AIMM™ and RAFT™ to provide an entirely new level of RF-tuning performance for mobile handset antennas. The Paratek part number for this circuit is PTHV-0104-4.
The HV-DAC basically functions as a voltage converter, by communicating (via SPI) with the internal digital processor within a mobile handset. The HV-DAC incorporates a high resolution Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) that generates specific voltages and then steps those voltages up to much higher values (to as high as 30V) that drive the PTICs. The innovative power management provided by the HV-DAC provides exceptionally rapid transition times of four outputs while keeping power consumption low.
